Why it matters

Registry alone doesn't update municipal records — mutation puts the property in your name for house tax and utilities, and protects against fraud.

How

• Apply to Nagar Nigam Ghaziabad (or the local body) with sale deed / succession proof, tax receipts and ID.
• Inheritance cases need death certificate and legal-heir proof.
• Fees are nominal; demand a receipt. Track until the mutation order and updated tax bill arrive.
• Disputes go to the municipal appellate authority.
