If money has just gone

• Call 1930 immediately — the national cyber-fraud helpline can freeze the money trail if you act within the golden hours.
• File at cybercrime.gov.in — with transaction details and screenshots.
• Tell your bank — ask for a written acknowledgement and dispute the transaction.

Prevent it

• Never share OTP, PIN, CVV or screen access — banks never ask.
• Beware “digital arrest” video calls, fake courier/customs calls and loan-app traps — hang up, verify independently.
• Use app locks and turn off SMS auto-forwarding permissions for unknown apps.
