Saans Ruki Hai — Clean Air Mission
A citizens' call for a focused Air Quality Action Mission for North India.
🎯Campaign goal: 9-pillar Air Quality Action Mission — awareness growing
North India's air is no longer just air — it is a silent emergency pressing on our children's lungs and our elders' lives. WHO calls air pollution the single biggest environmental health risk, and up to 40% of respiratory illness is now seen in children aged 5–18. Other nations have shown change is possible: China's 2013 action plan cut PM2.5 by roughly 40% in five years.
Our 9-pillar proposal
- Clean fuel transition — phased industrial coal alternatives, EV incentives, gas/electric cooking expansion.
- Agricultural support reform — direct subsidies for stubble alternatives and recycling units.
- Urban emission control — real-time monitoring, mandatory green construction, dust-free zones.
- Citizen & school engagement — monthly Clean Air Drives, air-health literacy, RWA air audits.
- Ultra-Low Emission industrial norms — retrofit-or-shut-down for thermal plants.
- National air-quality warning system — forecasting with automatic high-pollution-day restrictions.
- Heavy vehicle modernisation — phase-out of old diesel trucks, annual emission certificates.
- Green rings around cities — strategic forest belts to stabilise windflow and dust.
- Strict real-time enforcement — AI-enabled monitoring, no-compliance-no-operation.
